My children and brothers and sisters in Christ I want to remind you that these are my reflections about scriptures I read on a daily basis and mixed in with my personal experiences. Hopefully, this will be useful to you in your Christian walk. As I was reading the scriptures today, I reflected on how opposite is Christian living from worldly living. Whatever Jesus directs us to do is opposite of what the world expects us to do. This was also implied in the sermon my wife and I heard yesterday at church. One example is that Christ tells us to serve and put God first, put and serve others above yourself, and ourselves last. The world expects us to serve ourselves first, then others only if it will benefit us, and God last. Another one is from today when Christ instructs that whatever we do we should do and serve "in private", in others words do not brag about it or bring it to attention. The world expects us to boast about our actions and accomplishments so others can see, so you can be rewarded. Here is my view, you and I do not have to impress anyone except God. He is the maker and doer of all things. Above all, honor, praise and serve Him. Matthew 6:33 says "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you", English Standard Version, (2016). This is good advice.
