My children and brothers and sisters in Christ, the devotion today, for me, is an extension of the one yesterday when I compared Christian life to worldly expectations. Today's devotion two people come to pray at the temple. One is a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee viewed himself as being very religious and doing all the right things. He exalted himself above the common people and especially the tax collector. The tax collector compared himself to God and only prayed for forgiveness. He knew, compared to God, he truly was a sinner. My children do not fall into the trap of comparing yourself to other people and believe that you are better than they are. That is not what Christ want us to do. He wants us to show mercy and not judgement as He had shown us mercy.
