My brothers and sisters in Christ, you have friends that you are very close to and like spending time face-to-face. We all do. During my childhood, I had a best friend, Keith. We would spend every waking moment together. When I grew older, as you will, I had a girlfriend and we spent every waking moment together. We could not wait to see each other face-to-face. finally, you meet the one person that you can call your friend and your husband or wife. The both of you wants to spend every waking moment together. This doesn't mean that you will not have other friends. I have a group of friends who I play tennis with. We have a great time, sharing stories, feelings, and fellowship. All of us look forward to Saturdays when we are all together playing tennis and enjoying each others company. Moses had that type of friendship with God. In fact, God called Moses his friend. Jesus called his disciples his friends. Adam and Eve had a friendship with God. They would walk in the garden in the cool of the day and enjoy the fellowship they shared. When Adam and Eve rebelled against God, there was a void between man and God. However, God still loved us and wanted to restore the fellowship that man and God once shared. God set His plan in motion, resulting in Jesus who bore the sins of all mankind so that our fellowship with God can be restored as it once was. Now there is nothing keeping us from that personal face-to-face relationship with God. We can talk and share everything with Our Heavenly Father as one friend to another.
