A Better Gift

My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, have you ever tried to give a loved one a gift, but your loved one gives you a better gift? In this passage, David out of love and gratitude for God wanted to build a temple for the Ark of the Covenant. However, God had something better. He instructs Nathan to tell David that he will not build God's house, but He will build a house for David. He further says that David's son Solomon will build His temple, and David's kingdom will be established forever through God's son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
