I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "The Art of Forgiveness. The scripture is from Luke 15:11–24 with key verse being "While he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.." Luke 15:20. David C. McCasland wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. What I take from this passage is that God's love for us never changes. Even when we are rebellious (like the prodigal son), we can always "come home" with God's arm's open to embrace us. Since God is so ready to forgive us, we need to be willing to forgive others.
