Do Not Forget

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "Amnesia" The scripture is from Daniel 4:28–37 with key verse being "My understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High." Daniel 4:34 NKJV. Mart DeHaan wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. What I take from this passage is that we get caught up with ourselves and forget who is really in control of our lives. King Nebuchadnezzar is a classic example. After the Lord gave him Judah, he got a swelled head and proclaimed that he made his kingdom great and for his glory ( Daniel 4:30). God humbled him and brought him back to the reality that God is the King of Kings, and everything he had was from Him. If we ever forget who we are and who God is, we can count on Him to help us remember.
