Keep God Closer

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "Keeping Close" The scripture is from Deuteronomy 6:1–9 with key verse being "Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads" Deuteronomy 6:8. Amy Boucher Pye wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. What I take from this passage is to keep God's Word close to your heart. You heard the phrase, "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer." God's words say Keep His commands close. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[b] 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your
