I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "Blessing in the Mess" The scripture is from Genesis 28:10–22 with key verse being "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" Philippians 1:6. Monica Brands wrote this devotion. My brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I am like the author of this devotion, Monica Brands, and I am sure that I am not the only one. All of us have that attitude at one time or another. I am a lot like Jacob, also. I lived a life of deceit, self-gratification, and hostility. It was all about me. When I was told (several times) that God has a purpose for me, I replied, "to personally send me to Hell." God did not give up on me, and I have worked for His glory in various roles. I am very grateful. God never gives up on His love and purposes for our lives. I am a witness to His love, intentions, and grace.
