Our Father

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "Belonging" The scripture is from Isaiah 44:1–5 with key verse being "The Lord who made you and helps you says: 'Do not be afraid . . . my chosen one.'" Isaiah 44:2 NLT. Tim Gustafson wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I am a child of a broken home. My Dad left when I was young, but I still remember him going down the stairs with a suitcase. I was shipped off to live with my grandmother. She died my junior year in high school. My Mom remarried and her new husband took us in as his own. For once I felt like we were a family. Now I know there is a Heavenly family I can call my own. I belong to God as one of His children. On Earth can experience the love of our Heavenly Father. God’s love for us satisfies our sense of belonging and identity we all crave.
