I Declare MY Dependence On God!

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries,www.odb.org. Today's devotion is titled "Declaring Dependence" The scripture is from John 5:16–23 with key verse being "Apart from me you can do nothing" John 15:5. James Banks wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. As I mature as a Christian, I realize that without god, I do nothing. He allows me to wake, enjoy his creation, work, eat and use resources to study his word, tell others about Him. Now you know why I put the above disclaimer about my comments. God is everything; I am nothing without Him. We are tempted to take credit for our abilities and deeds. When we understand our inherent dependence on God, we are far less likely to boast in our accomplishments or to retaliate in the face of opposition.

We need You for everything, Lord! Help us to live to serve You. We praise You for being our Savior and strength!
