My Imperfections Brought Me Closer to Jesus

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, www.odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Perfect Imperfection” The scripture is from Ephesians 3:8–19 with key verse being “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being” Ephesians 3:16. Alyson Kieda wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. How many of you are a perfectionist? In some things, I was a perfectionist. To name a couple, I was a perfectionist in my professional life and my early Christian life. When I looked back, I limited my growing potential because I would not learn from constructive criticism. It was only through Christ's love and acceptance I discovered it was OK to be imperfect and brought me to a closer and more intimate relationship with Him.

Lord, so often I exchange the joy and freedom of life with You for the burden of relying on myself and my perfection. Help me humbly depend on You instead all the time.
