A Sure Investment

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, www.odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Lavish Expressions of Love” The scripture is from 2 Corinthians 9:6–15 with key verse being “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion” 2 Corinthians 9:11. Xochitl Dixon wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I always cringed when it came time for offering because 2 Corinthians 9:7 or Matthew 5:16 Many Pastors used these two passages to pressure their congregations into giving tithes and offering to advance The Gospel and community services. Be careful, some pastors are not sincere and use the money to satisfy their lusts. There are many ways you can give to advance the Gospel; time, talent, shelter, clothes, food, etc. Whatever God has blessed you with, He wants you to share freely with others. As we give, we can express our gratitude for all God has given, and motivate others to praise the Lord and give from all God has given them.

Lord, please help us trust Your abundant love and generosity, so we can give to others as You so faithfully give to us.
