The Joy of Giving

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, www.odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “The Joy of Giving” The scripture is from 1 Thessalonians 5:12–24 with key verse being “Encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone”1 Thessalonians 5:14. Leslie Koh wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. Our family is more givers than receivers. There is joy in giving. When we give, we are not expecting anything in return, not even a thank you. We get an insight into how God feels. We understand why He’s so delighted to give us His love, and we share in His joy and the satisfaction of blessing others.

Father, You have made us to give to others just as You have given to us. Teach us to give so that we can truly reflect Your character and be more like You today.
