I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, www.odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “A Hopeful Lament" The scripture is from Lamentations 3:49–58 with key verse being “I called on your name, Lord, from the depths of the pit” Lamentations 3:55. Amy Peterson wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, and brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I like the author's definition of lament. He says it is a legitimate response to the reality of suffering, engaging God in the context of pain and trouble. Lamenting is not a bad thing. When we lament to wrongdoings, we call ourselves, others and God to action to make changes. There are a lot of things that are wrong in this world and as Christians, take a passive stand This is not what God wants. He desires us to take action to bring change. We trust God to bring something new and better from our laments.
May God bless you and your families.
