I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, www.odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “The Lord Speaks" The scripture is from Job 38:1–11 with the key verse, “Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? ” Job 40:2. Philip Yancey wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. We know the story of Job. God loved Job and told Satan of his faithfulness and relationship He shared with him. Satan suggested Job will not be happy if he can bring calamity on Job. God said okay, but do not kill him. Even though, Job did not understand his relationship with God was strong. Job wanted an audience with God to ask why. God reminded Job of His sovereignty since the creation. How many times have we faced calamity and forgotten that no calamity is beyond God’s sovereignty and His love for us? We take heart in being one of the dearly loved sinners for whom Christ died.

Lord, we have so many questions about life and its unfairness. You have shown Yourself good to us. Help us to trust You for what we cannot understand.

May God bless you and as He blessed us.
