I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Muscling Through" The scripture is from 2 Chronicles 20:2–3, 14–22 with the key verse, "Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah” 2 Chronicles 20:3. Kirsten Holmberg wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. What I learned from this devotion is we become weak to experience God's strength. Israel was instructed to fast on many occasions to obtain God's help. Rather than trying to muscle our way through trials we face, we turn to God and allow Him to be our strength. One of my favorite songs is "The Battle Belongs to the Lord."
As the Author says, "We must recognize our weakness to experience God’s strength."
God bless and strengthen you.
