I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Unexpected Ways" The scripture is from 1 Kings 19:1–12 with the key verse, "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” John 14:9. Mart DeHaan wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. God shows His presence in a multitude of ways. In this devotion, God showed his presence in the form of a compassionate gorilla. He was seen in a pillar of fire and a force that parted the Red Sea. This is only to name a few. With Elijah, God was seen as a gentle whisper. Jesus Said that if you have seen Him, you have seen The Father. Then He quietly allowed Himself to be nailed to a tree—an unexpected, compassionate act by the great God who loves us.
Father in heaven, please help us to find courage in Your whisper—and in the ways of Your Son. Have mercy on us for not seeing beyond Your power to a love we’ve barely begun to know.
May God bless and appear to you in love.
