I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “It’s Not About the Fish" The scripture is from Jonah 3:10–4:4 with the key verse, "When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented” Jonah 3:10. Tim Gustafson wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. Jonah and I had something in common. Jonah was instructed to go to Nineveh and warn them about God's judgment and ultimate destruction. We all know what happened in the end. I wanted people to stop criticizing Trump, pray for him, and leave him in God's hands. Just like Jonah was no fan of Nineveh, I am no fan of Trump. My motive was based on Trump being too proud, and God would remove him from office as He has done with leaders before. I, like Jonah, had the wrong motive. I still say pray for Trump, but have God touch his heart and turn him from his pride and ways so he will surrender his will to God and lead this country in a Godly way. God offers His love to brutal Ninevites, politicians, pouting prophets, and you and me.
Father, we tend to look at what others “deserve.” Help us live in Your love and tell others about it.
God bless you and cover you with His love
