Delight in God

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Asking God First" The scripture is from Psalm 37:3–7, 23–24 with the key verse, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4. Leslie Koh wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. We know that God lets us have choices. What we need to do is first seek to put His ways before our own. In other words, we have to drop choices that are plainly wrong or would not please Him. What is left, are remaining options that satisfy God. We are free to choose from them. Our loving Father wants to give us the desires of our hearts, but only hearts that take delight in Him.

Teach us, O God, to put You first in everything we do. Show us how to take delight in You, that our hearts will be transformed to be like Yours.
