I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Fathers and Sons” The scripture is from Ephesians 4:31–32 with the key verse, “He will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.” Malachi 4:6. David H. Roper wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. This devotion reminds me of the relationship I had with my Dad. Our relationship was not a good one. I harbored hostel feelings for him for many years. My mother urges me to reconcile with him. I finally decided to reconcile with my Dad. It was the best times I ever had. We talked like father and son about life experiences. I will never forget. He passed away and is in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. I really miss him, but I have the joy that I will see him again. In God’s power and love, draw closer to others while there’s time.
Father, thank You for forgiving me and allowing me to experience a restored relationship with You. Help me to seek reconciliation in my broken relationships and deeper connections with others close to me even as I await the healing that will come in Your presence.
May God bless, and help you to seek the reconciliation of broken relationships.
