I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Dumb Sheep, Good Shepherd” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Ezekiel 34:7–16 with the key verse, “As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep” Ezekiel 34:12. Amy Peterson wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. We are the sheep mentioned in this devotion. We are as "dumb." Like real sheep need a shepherd to tend to them, we need a special shepherd to look after us. The special shepherd is The Lord Jesus Christ. A shepherd might give his life for the sake of his sheep. The Good Shepherd gave His life for His sheep leading us to green pastures.
Lord, as members of your flock, we are in need of tender care and direction. How blessed we are to have a Shepherd who is always leading us to green pastures.
May God bless you with The Good Shepherd.
