I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Dangerous Distractions” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from John 13:31–35 with the key verse, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:35 NLT. Bill Crowder wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. I saw the painting by Artist Sigismund Goetze. I was astonished but realized what he painted is our reality. We get distracted by our earthly lives and forget about Jesus. “For God so loved the world,[a] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.", John 3:16 ESV. Love is the keyword. Jesus' last commands to his disciples were to love one another as God loved us. In doing so, the world will know that they were his disciples. The same holds true for us today and in the future: we are to love one another despite our differences.
Lord, help us to love one another as you loved us.
May God bless you with grace, so you will love others.
