God Loves An Enthusiastic Giver

I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “What We Have” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from 2 Corinthians 8:1–12 with the key verse, “For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.” 2 Corinthians 8:12. Kirsten Holmberg wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. There are many issues about giving. We compare our giving to that of others when our resources don’t allow us to give as much as we wish. Paul, The Apostle, encouraged us to give what we can. Unlike the world, God views our giving differently: it’s our willingness to give what we have He loves.

Lord, help us see what You’ve given us, even if it doesn’t seem like much by the world’s standards. Help us to give generously.
