I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Honoring God with Thanks” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Psalm 50:8–15 with the key verse, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24. Patricia Raybon wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. In the old testament (old covenant) the Hebrew nation sacrificed animals for numerous occasions. God acknowledges the sacrifices, but Instead of these once-formal Israelite sacrifices of gratitude, God wants His people to give Him our hearts and lives in gratitude. God wants your gratitude for His love, and for who God is: Redeemer, Healer, and friend.
Lord, thank you for being our Redeemer, Healer, and Friend.
May God bless you and be thankful to God for being your Healer, Redeemer, and Friend.
