I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Questions at Christmas” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Matthew 16:13–21 with the key verse, “'But what about you?” [Jesus] asked. “Who do you say I am?'” Matthew 16:15. Tim Gustafson wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. I remember growing up and looking forward to Christmas. I had no understanding about the meaning of Christmas even though I sang all the Christmas carols, and attended all the services. It was later in my life that I discovered the real story behind Christmas. Our Creator visited His creation and became one of us. It is about God becoming man through Jesus and telling us about the Kingdom of God. This was the beginning of the culmination of God's plan for our salvation to reconciled us to Him through Jesus Christ.
Father in heaven, may our Christmas celebrations this year, whether lavish or small, honor the Messiah who came to redeem His creation.
May God bless you and remember why we celebrate Christmas.
