I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “A Hand Up” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Ecclesiastes 4:8–12 with the key verse, “If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” Ecclesiastes 4:10. Kirsten Holmberg wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. What I have learned from life is that we are not wired to live alone. God created us to be social and yearn for fellowship or companionship. I few find ourselves needing a helping hand, God has someone nearby to lift us. When someone else needs a friend, we could be God’s answer to help and encourage someone. If it appears that no one is nearby for us, we can find comfort in knowing that God is our ever-present help.
Thank You, Father, for helping us up when life knocks us down. Thank You for the people You’ve used to encourage and strengthen me. Yours is the most faithful friendship I have.
May God bless, and be a comfort to you.
