I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Ponder It” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Luke 2:8–20 with the key verse, “Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.” Luke 2:19. David C. McCasland wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. What I observe, the closer we are to Christmas, the more intense are the teachings about Christ. This devotion is centered on the practice of pondering. Ponder means “to throw together, confer, to put one thing with another in considering circumstances” (Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words). When we struggle to understand the meaning of what’s happening in our lives, we need to seek God and His wisdom. There are many new things about His loving guidance to treasure and ponder in our hearts.
Father, guide us by Your Holy Spirit as we consider Your great love and embrace Your plan for our lives.
May God bless you, and the Holy Spirit guides you to embrace His plan for your life.
