I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Eyes Tightly Shut” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Genesis 3:1–10 with the key verse, “They hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.” Genesis 3:8. Kirsten Holmberg wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. I teach kindergarten. one of the games I played with them was that I cover my eyes and tell them they can't see me because I can't see them. Of course it didn't work, we all knew better. Sin is that way. When we sin, we try to hide it from God hoping that He didn't see it. However, like my kindergartners, they still saw me even when I covered my eyes. Nothing gets by God, so stop trying to hide. He already knows. He sees us (and seeks us!) because He loves us and offers forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
Father, thank You for seeing us and loving us even when we do wrong.
May bless you this new year and may The Lord God love you when you do wrong.
