I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Jesus Is Right Behind You” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Matthew 25:37-40 with the key verse, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these . . . you did for me.", Matthew 25:40. John Blase wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. The lesson from this article is caring and serving. When Christ walked among us, he modeled caring and serving others. When are we doing something for others, it does not have to be on a grand scale. It can be something as simple helping someone across the street, helping to carry groceries or giving someone a lift. Jesus said “whatever you did” (v. 40) gives us a great deal of freedom in serving Him while serving others. Think of ways you can serve others.
Lord, help me not to overthink serving others. Sometimes the small, simple things mean more than I’ll ever know. And help me to remember that whatever I do for others, I’m doing for You.
May God bless you and help you to remember that whatever you do for others, you're doing for God.
