Unity through Love

I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Plight of the Crawdads” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from 1 Thessalonians 5:11–18 with the key verse, “Always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else", 1 Thessalonians 5:15. Xochitl Dixon wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. The lesson from this article is unity. Paul commended the church in Thessalonica on their unity but wanted them to step it up. Being in a community of unity is commendable, but God wants us to create a culture of forgiveness, kindness, and compassion, so our relationships with God and others will be strengthened. The church will grow and witness for Christ through this kind of loving unity and committing to lifting others up instead of pulling them down with words or actions.

Lord, guide us to be witnesses for You committing to lifting others up instead of pulling them down with words or actions.
