I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Free from Frostbite” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Psalm 119:33–48 with the key verse, “Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight." Psalm 119:35. Jennifer Benson Schuldt wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. The subject here is about rules. Most people look at rules as confinements, "I can't do as I want." We have rules in our every day lives for our protection. Following God’s wise instruction allows us to escape the consequences that come from choices we later wish we could undo. Without the weight of guilt or pain we are freer to enjoy our lives. It is not His intent to control us with dos and don’ts. His guidelines show that He loves us.
Dear God, give me a love for Your ways like the psalmist had. I want to worship You with the choices I make every day.
May God bless you and give you love for His ways.
