Good Gifts

I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Giving Credit” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Jeremiah 9:23–26 with the key verse, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:31. Cindy Hess Kasper wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. How many get caught up in themselves that they believe that they are the sole source of their success? The prophet Jeremiah and the Apostle Paul caution against this. Everything resource, talent, good things comes from God. “Every good and perfect gift is . . . from the Father” (James 1:17). All of the credit, all of the praise belongs to the Giver of good gifts.

Dear Father, thank You for all the good gifts You so graciously give.
