wp:paragraph I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “The Battle” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Psalm 39:1–7 with the key verse, “But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” Psalm 39:7. Tim Gustafson wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. We all have "battles" in our lives that we try to fight alone. Sometimes we use material things to help us win our battles. We only find out that nothing works, the "battle" goes on. Soon we realize that there is no way out or to turn except to God. David turned to God in prayer. David survived this personal battle and went on to serve God. Our prayer life doesn’t matter as much as the focus of our prayer. God is our source of hope. He wants us to share our heart with Him.
Father, our hope is in You. Forgive us for seeking answers apart from You. Draw us close to You today.
May God bless you and may He draw you close to Him today.
