I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Out of Context” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from John 20:13–16 with the key verse, “She turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.” John 20:14. Elisa Morgan wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. I don't know how many times my wife has asked me if I have seen or know where an item is. My response usually is "I don't Know." Then she will add more details such as where or when it was last seen or used. Like Mary, we can't see Jesus unless we are ready and willing to see Him. This means we keep Jesus foremost in our minds at all times. We need to look for Jesus to come into our day, during prayer or Bible reading, or by simply whispering in our hearts.
Dear God, give us eyes to see Jesus, however He comes—in a familiar context or surprising us in an unexpected one.
May God bless you, and give you eyes to see Jesus in a familiar context or in an unexpected one.
