Letters of Encouragement

I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Send It in a Letter” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Colossians 1:9–12 with the key verse, "Since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you.” Colossians 1:9. John Blase wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. When the crisis with our daughter occurred, we were felt helpless. We did not know why or what to do. We felt alone. When the word got out, letters and words of encouragement started coming. God made us realize that we were not alone. Paul’s letter to the people at Colossae was exact words penned on a page that carried hopes for continued fruitfulness and knowledge and strength and endurance and patience. Just knowing that people praying nonstop for us strengthened us to stay steady in their faith in Christ Jesus. Words of encouragement can dramatically help others in need.

What opportunities do you have to give someone else the “letter” of encouragement they need? Ask God to help.

May God bless you and lead you to give someone the "letter" of encouragement.
