wp:paragraph I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Living Sacrifice” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Romans 12:1–8 with the key verse, “I urge you . . . in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice.” Romans 12:1. Amy Boucher Pye wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. I once had a hat with the same above verse. I thought it meant to keep your body holy from physical vices such as drugs and fornication. Since I read further, I was wrong. The Apostle Paul wanted the church in Rome to use their God-given talents to help others as well as the church. This is true of us today. Each day we have the opportunity to serve others. When we offer ourselves as living sacrifices, we honor God.
Lord Jesus Christ, You humbled Yourself and lay down Your life that I might live. May I never forget this most precious gift of grace and love.
May God bless you and honor Jesus by serving others.
