We Are Part of God's Story

The scripture is from Romans 13:8–14 with the key verse, “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here.” Romans 13:12. Mike Wittmer wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, before I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. God’s story is: He created all things; we fell into sin; Jesus came to Earth and died and rose again to save us from our sins, and we now await His return and the restoration of all things. To live in God's story, we have to turn from sin by God’s power and choose to love Him and others as well. We fight with Jesus against evil with the gifts we have and what needs we see. We extend God’s justice, love, and comfort as He guides us.

Father, may Your kingdom come and may it come in me.

May God bless you and guide you to use your gifts for His glory.
