I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Destroying the Shroud” The scripture is from Isaiah 25:1–9 with the key verse, “[God] will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples" Isaiah 25:7. Winn Collier wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. The devotion is focused on the second half of Isaiah 25:1–9. This is about Jesus removing the shroud of ignorance and evil covers the world, blinding all of us to God’s love. My shroud was ignorance and evil was in the form of self gratification, anger, and depression. Now that I am a child of God, He removed my shroud. I am free and you can be also, if you accept Christ into your heart. Insight: Where do you sense the darkness in your world? How do you imagine Jesus destroys that place?
Prayer: God, the gloom is everywhere these days. It’s so difficult to see Your truth and love. Will You help me? I’m hopeless without You.
May God bless you and remove your shroud.
