I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Present in the Storm” The scripture is from Psalm 46 with the key verse, “The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress" Psalm 46:7. Arthur Jackson wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. I can relate to those who ask where God is when disasters strike. I wonder the same thing when my daughter tried to commit suicide. That was a very lonely time in our lives and we asked where is God. We realized that God was with us all the time. He sent many people to supports us with food, love and understanding. He is present when our circumstances are unbearable, and we find comfort in His character: He is good, loving, and trustworthy. Reflect and Pray: When did a challenge in life cause you to question if God was present? What helped to turn the situation around for you? Prayer: Father, help us to trust the truth of Your Word when it’s hard for us to sense Your care or presence.
May God bless you and may you feel God's presence in time of crisis.
