I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Are You Hungry Now?” The scripture is from James 2:14–18 with the key verse, "What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?" James 2:14. Dave Branon wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. I am learning through all the bible studies that faith and works are related. James is right. Your faith is dead without good works. James states that our faith in Jesus Christ provides us with great advantages, a relationship with Him, an abundant life, and future hope. His question is what good is it for anyone else if we don’t reach out and help those in need? We have to reach out to help those in need. It does not have to be sometime big. It can be as small buying lunch or taking time out your day to read the Bible with someone. There are plenty of opportunities to show your faith. Reflect: What needs around you touch your heart? What’s one thing you can do to help others—even if it seems insignificant? Prayer: Direct our steps, O God, toward the actions You want us to take to help someone in need. Thank You for allowing us to be a part of Your work on earth.
May God bless you and you to someone in need.
