I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Hands-On Learning” The scripture is from Titus 2:1–8 with the key verse, "Imitate me, as I imitate Christ" 1 Corinthians 11:1. Amy Peterson wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. As Christians, we need mentors to confide and follow. Choose your mentors wisely. Mentors are experienced believers who teach “sound doctrine”, and lived it out. I remember when I was an AWANA commander. I told my leaders that we are models for our members. I warned them to be careful and live out the sound doctrine we are teaching them. Reflect: What lessons have you learned from those who have taught you about living for Jesus by their words and actions? What are others seeing as they view your faith in action? Prayer: God, thank You for graciously giving us mentors who can show us by example how to live for You, and thank You for giving us Your Son, the only perfect model of faith. May God bless you and help you find a mentor.
