I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Easily Entangled” The scripture is from Hebrews 2:17–18; 12:1–2 with the key verse, "Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles” Hebrews 12:1. Cindy Hess Kasper wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. As Christians we have life issues that can cling to us. It could be a past sin or a bad habit that we cannot shake. Alone, we may be desperately entwined by our own sins and bad habit. God wants us to overcome temptations, past sins and bad habits. It’s not through our own strength, but God's, that we can “throw off” entangling sins and habits to run after His righteousness. Reflect: What sin or sins have a strong hold on you? What can you do to gain freedom from the struggle you’re experiencing? Prayer: Jesus, give us Your strength to overcome the sin in our lives. Help us to trust in Your power rather than our own and lead us in the right path. May God bless you and give you strength to overcome sins in your life.
