I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “God’s Special Treasure.” The scripture is from 1 Peter 2:4–10 with the key verse, “But you are . . . God’s special possession” 1 Peter 2:9. John Blasé wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. When I became a child of God. The great and powerful King of heaven considers me among His special treasures. He rescued me from the grip of sin and death and claims me as His own. It is a feeling that is like no other. I never felt special before. Join me.
Reflect:
Can you recall a time when someone genuinely called you “special”? What effect did it have on you? What does it mean for you to know that you’re precious to God?
Prayer:
High King of heaven, my identity is found entirely in You, and You call me Your special treasure. I know this isn’t because of anything I’ve done, but because of everything You are.
May God bless you and your identity be found in God.
