I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “He’s Got This” The scripture is from 2 Peter 3:14–18 with the key verse, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” 2 Peter 3:18. Mike Wittmer wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. Once again, we see there is disharmony in this fallen world between God and mankind. In the world growing mature means becoming less dependent. The Apostle Paul and Peter stated that the way for us to mature spiritually is to become more dependent on God. We only grow by sinking our roots deeper in the grace and knowledge of Him. We can’t grow beyond our dependence on Christ.
Reflect:
Where do you feel your dependence on Jesus? How is that a sign of maturity?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for walking alongside me as I grow in my relationship with You.
May God bless you and continue to walk along beside you as you grow your relationship with Him.
