I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “The Big Shuffle” The scripture is from Ephesians 2:4–10 with the key verse, “It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8. Sheridan Voysey wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as an inspiration for my comments. My heart breaks that the character in this devotion was so misguided. With all her church attending, she never understood the Gospel. Unfortunately, many people are like her and remain in darkness. They are led by false doctrine and beliefs. As Christians it is our command to spread "The Good News" to everyone. Understanding the gospel helps us love others because God so loves us that He gave his son to die for our sins. Let's share God's love and salvation with others. Reflection: Why is it easy to mistakenly believe you must do good things to be accepted by God? How does understanding the gospel help you to love others better? Prayer: God, help others to trust that You’ve done what’s needed for us to be accepted by You. May God bless you and help you to trust that He has done what's needed for you to be accepted by Him.
