I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Needing His Leading.” Bill Crowder wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Psalm 61 with the key verse, “From the ends of the earth I call to you.”, Psalm 61:2. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I first pray to God to guide my words so that it will serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of wiring. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
Today we are in extraordinary times. We are facing a pandemic that killed millions worldwide with no cure in sight. There are riots across our country. We have no leadership from our government. This is a very lonely times for many people. Where can we turn? Who can we look to?
David faced a similar situation. He fled for his life, and his kingdom under siege. In a time of great weariness and heartache, David looked beyond any human guide, seeking direction from the God he served (Psalm 61). He poured out his heart to The Lord and trusted Him.
Like David, are not left to ourselves. We have a Shepherd who leads us “beside quiet waters,” refreshes our souls, and guides us (Psalm 23:2–3).
Reflect:
What was it like when you felt lost? How can you begin to trust God’s desire to guide you like a shepherd in those times of seeking?
Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You for being my Shepherd and Guide. Help me to trust You and rest in Your wisdom, allowing Your Spirit to guide me through the challenging moments of life.
My Prayer For You:
May God bless and help you to trust Him and rest in His wisdom, allowing His Spirit to guide you through the challenging moments of life.
