I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “How to Rebuild.” Dave Branon wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Nehemiah 2:11–18 with the key verse, “They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work.”, Nehemiah 2:18. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I first pray to God to guide my words so that it will serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of wiring. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

Whenever you start a project to rebuild, you plan it out. First, you ask for guidance from experts. Next, you analyze the problem. Then, recognize and acknowledge what experts tell you. Finally, you start to rebuild.

As you consider your circumstances, is there something that looks difficult but that you know God wants you to do? Maybe it is a sin you cannot get rid of, or a relationship rift that’s not God-honoring. Ask God for guidance (Jeremiah 2:4–5), analyze the problem (vv. 11–15), and recognize His involvement (v. 18). Then start rebuilding.

Reflect:

What are a couple of “destroyed wall” situations that are troubling you? How will prayerfully asking for God’s help and guidance help you start the rebuilding process?

Prayer:

God, I need Your help. I cannot fix these problems alone. Help me to understand the situation, and then to seek Your help and guidance in resolving the challenges before me.

My Prayer for You:

May God bless and provide guidance in resolving challenges.
