I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Life to the Full.” Remi Oyedele wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from John 10:7–11 with the key verse, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd.”, John 10:10–11. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I first pray to God to guide my words so that it will serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of wiring. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
All of us want to have an abundant life that is also fulfilling. The problem is we look in the wrong direction. We look at the world for our abundant and fulfilling life. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd”, John 10:10–11.
Psalm 23 paints a refreshing portrait of the life our Shepherd gives us. In Him, we “lack nothing” and are refreshed. He leads us down the right paths of His perfect will, so that even when we face dark times, we need not be afraid; for He is present to comfort us. He causes us to triumph in the face of adversity and overwhelms us with blessings. His goodness and love follow us every day, and we have the privilege of His presence forever.
Answer the Shepherd’s call and experience the full, abundant life He came to give us. There is no other way.
Reflect:
How would you describe the life that Jesus came to give? How can you share this life with others?
Prayer:
Jesus, you are the source of true life, abundant and full. Help us seek our fulfillment only in You.
My Prayer for You:
May God bless and provide you the source of true life, abundant and full. In addition, you seek fulfillment only in him.
