His Death Brings Life

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “His Death Brings Life.” Bill Crowder wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is 2 Corinthians 5:14–21 with the key verse, “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”, 2 Corinthians 5:17. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
The moment I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, there was some immediate transformations. The tone of my voice and countenance changed. I lived with my girlfriend for more than three years. I told her the change that had come over me and that we can no longer live this way. I proposed to her, but she refused, and we went our separate ways. There are areas in my life that still need the “new creation” impact.
As I am a believer in Jesus, I celebrate my life as a new creation. I must never lose sight of what that cost Christ. His death brings us life. “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Reflect:
How has Jesus’ transforming work been evidenced in your life? What are areas of your life still in need of that “new creation” impact?
Prayer:
Loving Father, thank You that I am a new creation because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Forgive me for the times I return to the old things that need to pass away.
My Prayer for You:
May God bless and forgive you for the times you return to the old things that need to pass away.
