I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Only Trust” Arthur Jackson wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from 1 Kings 17:8–16 with the key verse, “So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.”, 1 Kings 17:15. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
I remember the day my unemployment benefits ran out, and we prayed to God for help. We informed our landlord of our financial situation and that we must move. He came over with groceries and lowered our rent until we were back on our feet. We received a check from sweepstakes, and an anonymous donor gave us a check through the church.
God, as our Provider, has promised to supply our needs. Before we seek solutions, may we be careful to ask Him first. Doing so can save us time, energy, and frustration.
Reflect:
What has been your experience when you’ve focused on securing provision before seeking the Provider in prayer? What current needs will you bring before God?
Prayer:
Father sharpen my vision of You as the Provider for all my needs. Forgive me for times I have futilely sought to find my way without seeking You first.
My Prayer for You:
May God bless and sharpen your vision of God as the Provider for all your needs.
